Hatching Eggs
The hatching egg business.
How would you like to create your own flock of geese, and without the expense of buying the goose and the gander. Have you ever consider raising ducks? How about pheasant or peacock? Keep in mind that most eggs that are sold in stores are not fertile and cannot be hatched. You need to order fertile eggs from hatcheries or poultry farmers. Here you can order eggs to replenish your breeding stock for next season.
Newly hatched chicks need to be kept warm in a draft free enclosure. They need to also be protected from predators. An incubator is a special enclosure which has controlled ventilation, temperature and humidity. You can buy a small inexpensive incubator or you can make your own. Fresh water should be made available to the chicks at all times. Use a chick starter feed until they are 6 weeks of age.
