Well, the most expensive eggs are definitely not for eating. Fabergé eggs are the world's most expensive eggs. As history has it, the Russian Czar Alexander commissioned Peter Carl Fabergé to create a special Easter gift for his wife, the Empress Marie. The Czar's wife was so impressed by the Fabergé egg that a new one was commissioned each Easter for the rest of Peter Carl Fabergé's life.

All in total Fabergé created 57 eggs which happen to be worth millions of dollars today. Fabergé eggs are still produced today by the company authorized to use the name Fabergé. They are beautiful works of art, though still quite pricey.
